Envelope Manufacturing and Print Operations Director 

Regent Envelopes has an opportunity for a senior manager looking for their next career move.  We are looking for an Operations Director to manage all activities related to the daily operations and development of the company. 

This will be accomplished through leadership, direction, and motivation of all employees. The Operations Director’s relationship and interplay with customers, vendors and employees will fulfil our commitment to sustainable growth and profitability.

The role of Operations Director will require the effective management of the following:

Customer Service Manager

Job Purpose:  

• Responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal stakeholders and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and systems as well as communicating effectively with team members within the customer service department

• To manage customer jobs from initial enquiry to order approval through to finished product, including all front office and production aspects

Key Contacts/Working Relationships:

• The role is to be part of a customer service team 

• The role reports directly to the Sales Director

Job Holder Responsibilities:

• Delivering outstanding customer service to all customers.

• Oversee the completion of large volumes of work with multiple deadlines

• Identifying sales opportunities within customer base that you are account managing and acting on these

• Timely order processing and management

• Act as Leader on Duty and coach the activities of other associates to ensure every client receives the highest possible level of service.

Job Specific Skills Essential:

•  A minimum of five year experience specifically in Envelope manufacturing and printing  

• Adept at dealing with customers by phone and email

• Experience of using Print MIS and CRM systems to manage WIP and communications with the sales team, customers and management

Required:

• A confident manner and a flexible and logical approach to work.

• Great administration ability, efficiency, attention to detail and accuracy

• Fantastic organisation skills and the ability to work to deadlines

• Effective verbal and written communication ability, including an excellent telephone manner

• Effective problem-solving ability

• Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and e-mail

• A superb, ‘find a way’ customer service attitude.

• Commercially confident in producing accurate and timely estimating for customers

• Works closely with the credit department to resolve disputed credit items

• Provides timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns

• Partners with the sales team to meet and exceed customer’s service expectations and maximise ongoing levels of sales

• Knowledge of envelope manufacturing process for Flexo, Flat-sheet convert, Overprinting

• Knowledge of artwork and proofing for print

• Knowledge of Colour Management

• Trains and coaches support staff on the use of company procedures systems and tools. In addition, contributes to associate’s development through training, communication, recognition and support.

• To provide holiday cover and support for other team members

• As there may be a need to travel on occasions, a full UK driving license is required

Decision Making Authority:

• Solo decision making on the service, commercial and manufacture details of every job managed and supported by the Line Manager (when on site) and the system at all times

 • Tracking work in progress for your assigned customers and notifying them of updates or changes on a timely and regular basis

Job Holder Responsibilities:

  • To produce printed envelopes to the job specification supplied
  • To ensure the quality of every job.
  • To follow the quality standards as described in our ISO 9001 procedures for Printing
  • To complete all paperwork associated with the job and the quality procedure
  • To ensure a high level of Health and Safety is maintained on the machine at all times
  • To complete any routine cleaning and maintenance of the press (maintenance is supported by our internal Team)
  • To complete all hours as detailed in the shift pattern supplied and to provide holiday cover for other team members
  • All work carried out and any waste created must be moved or disposed in adherence with our environmental standard ISO 14001

Job Purpose:

  • To produce high quality and timely artwork files for print to timescales required for efficient working
  • To keep Macs updated and plate making machines in good working order Key Contacts/Working Relationships:

Job Holder Responsibilities:

  • Create artwork, Typesetting & Proof Reading
  • Using Apple Mac to check artwork suitable for printing

Job Specific Skills Essential:

  • A minimum of two years Reprographics experience & good knowledge of Apple Mac’s
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC & Pitstop Pro
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign – Adobe Illustrator – Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience of using colour management standards

  • Previous experience within a busy studio environment
